Floreat Transformation by Robeson Architects

As seen in the Winnings Design & Culinary Guide Issue 06

Clever design elements add appeal to beautiful spaces.

A beautiful renovation in Perth’s Floreat aimed to repurpose as much of the existing structure as possible, maximising the budget for new-build areas. To counteract the lower ceilings of the original ’90s-era house, a large living room with high ceilings was devised.

The generous use of luxurious marble finishes in the kitchen is complemented by the choice of superior appliances including Miele’s VitroLine Combi-Steam Oven with HydroClean, a Zip Hydro Tap for instant beverages, and Sub-Zero’s Undercounter Wine Cabinet for a curated collection of vintages.

Throughout the home, the 4m-high ceiling, lined with stained Victorian ash timber, floats above the new alfresco roof, separated by high-level glazing. These floating roofs extend into the established garden, overlooking the newly raised pool designed by Tristan Peirce Landscape Architects.
